Lucinda Lou Slater-Archer, age 71, died away on March 10, 2023 at 5:19 pm at her home in the company of her devoted family. Lucinda Slater is the daughter of Ralph and Mildred (Briner) Slater. She was born in Vincennes on March 1, 1952. Her parents’ names are Ralph and Mildred. On June 16, 2001, Lucinda wed Robert Archer in a wedding ceremony.
Melody Combs was born in Vincennes, and Amber Lucinda’s half-sister Nancy Wells, her niece Christy Chambers, and her nephew Danny Burgess all passed away before she did. Her parents, Ralph and Mildred Slater, all died before she did. On Thursday, March 16, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, friends and family are welcome to pay their respects to Lucinda’s family at the Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home located at 524 Broadway in Vincennes, IN.
Lucinda served as a court reporter for the Knox County Circuit Court and attended services at Oaktown First Christian Church during her career. On Sundays, her favorite activity was to spend time with her sister, and she adored her kitties. Her husband, Bob Archer of Oaktown, her daughters Melody Combs of Vincennes and Amber Combs and her husband Philip of Francisco, Indiana, her son Michael Combs, her stepdaughter Heather Schwartz of Mentor, Ohio, her sisters Kay Slayton of Vincennes and Virginia Lacey of Vincennes, her eight grandchildren, her two great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews are among her survivors.
The funeral service for Lucinda will commence at the completion of the visitation on Thursday at the funeral home at one o’clock in the afternoon, with Reverend Harley Archer serving as the officiant. The Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home considers it a privilege and an honor to be entrusted with the care of Lucinda and her family at this difficult time. Lucinda will be laid to rest in Oaktown Cemetery.
