Deptford NJ Police Shooting – According to our sources, a police officer in Gloucester County, New Jersey, was shot in the leg during a shootout on Friday afternoon that also resulted in the death of a suspect. According to a statement released by the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, the incident took place at approximately 12:45 p.m. in the neighborhood of Doman Avenue in Westville. According to the reports, it started with a pedestrian stop on Delsea Drive near a mechanic shop, which then turned into a foot chase and a gun fight between a police officer and a man suspect.
All of this took place near a mechanic shop. According to sources, another police applied a tourniquet on the injured cop, and the injured officer was then sent to Cooper University Hospital as quickly as possible. When the officer was first brought in, his condition was described as being quite severe. He has been released from the operating room and is currently in stable condition. The police appeared to be concentrating their attention on two separate incidents. One of these was located in Westville, along Delsea Drive.
The other was located approximately a mile and a half away in Deptford, and it was along Doman Avenue near Cobblestone Lane where police were spotted conducting an investigation outside of a property. At each of the scenes, there were two tents that had been set up, as well as multiple vehicles and investigators. Outside of Cooper Hospital, there was also a gathering of law enforcement personnel that could be observed. It was possible to observe several of the officers giving each other hugs. Officials from the law enforcement agency have not yet disclosed the specific events that led up to the incident.
