Tommy Kay Obituary, Tommy Kay Has Passed Away – Death Cause

Tommy Kay Obituary, Death – After a protracted battle with illness, Mr. Tommy Kay, age 80, of the Concord Community in Fairmount, passed away at Gordon Hospital on November 16, 2008. He was a resident of Fairmount. He was the son of Charlie Kay, who passed away, and Rosie Silvers Kay, who also passed away, and he was born on June 19, 1928 in Gordon County. Mr. Kay was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ and had worked in the textile industry for many years before retiring.

On September 4, 2008, in addition to his own parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Mettie Kelley Kay. She passed away the previous year. There are a number of survivors, including a niece named Susie Grizzle, a nephew named John Addy and his wife Faye of the Concord Community, a sister-in-law named Mittie Kelley, and other relatives. Reverend Freeman Hamrick will preside over the funeral services that will be held for Mr. Tommy Kay on Tuesday, November 18 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home.

After the funeral, the body will be laid to rest in the family lot at the cemetery of the Pleasant Grove (Ryo) Baptist Church. Tara Smith, Wesley Grizzle, Lisa Kirby, and Drew Kirby will be responsible for the arrangement of the musical pieces. A number of people, such as Darrell Grizzle, Wesley Grizzle, Mike Farmer, Elbert Jackson, and Michael Johnson, will serve as active pallbearers. After 5:00 p.m. on Monday, the family will host a visitation at the funeral home that is owned and operated by Max Brannon and Sons.
