Kevin McDermott Obituary, Former Member of St Brendan’s Yeppoon Old Boys Foundation Has Passed Away – Death Cause

Kevin McDermott Obituary, Death – We are breaking the news to the Old Boys community about the demise of Kevin McDermott with a heavy heart. He was a beloved member of the Old Boys organization (student from 1949-53). We are keeping the McDermott family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Bridgett Atterbury and her husband Justin, both of Invermere, British Columbia, are his surviving family members. Remembered by his siblings, Fr. Murray McDermott C.R. of Waterloo, Sandra MacDermott (Murray) of Barrie, and Jeffrey McDermott of Kitchener. Dear Grandfather, we are writing to you on behalf of Oakley and Kennedi Atterbury. His parents, Frank and Shirley McDermott, as well as his brother, Barry McDermott, have passed away before him.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, located at 171 King Street South in Waterloo. Guests are encouraged to share their memories of Kevin with his family during this time. The Parish Prayers will take place at 8:30 o’clock in the evening.

The celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, October 9, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the St. Louis R.C Church located at 53 Allen Street E in Waterloo, with the Reverend Murray McDermott C.R. serving as the celebrant. After the service, interment will take place at Parkview Cemetery in Waterloo. It is impossible to fill the void that his passing has left behind in the hearts of those who loved and cared for him. The agony is a reminder, albeit a bittersweet one, that we are the fortunate ones to have had the amount of time that we did with him.
