Maureen Dunckel Obituary, Maureen Dunckel Has Died – Death Cause

Maureen Dunckel Death, Obituary – Our dearly loved mother, Maureen Cleary Dunckel, was given her heavenly angelic wings yesterday at 5:40 in the morning. It is with a Heavy Heart that I tell you this information. She was an incredible woman who put up a valiant effort despite having a long and difficult struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. She fought the good fight! It was an act of bravery and one of strength!

I will always cherish the time I was able to spend with Glenn’s mother. When Glenn and I initially started dating, she played a significant role in helping me let go of “Sweet William” so that he might enjoy his life to the fullest in heaven. She also used her more than 45 years of expertise as a leader in the 4-H organization to teach me, so that I could improve as a baker and learn the intricacies of rearing and exhibiting bunnies.

This has been a trying time for all of us, but having the support of our extended family and other friends has helped ease the pain and guided us through the process. Several people should be thanked for contributing to the healing process in their own way. Since we moved to the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) in Laguna Vista, Texas, not only do we love you, but we also miss everyone. Now, persons who suffer from dementia and/or Alzheimer’s disease, as well as the people who are close to them, are included in our daily prayers!

Alzheimer’s disease is a particularly heartless illness that demonstrates and possesses absolutely no mercy at all. Throughout the past few days, there were a lot of emotional highs and lows. Hospice as well as the staff and nurses of the Memory care Unit at The Blake in New Braunfels provided excellent, loving, and sensitive care for the patient. While she bravely engaged in combat, everyone’s affection for their “Sweet Gi Gi” rose. After going through such a trying time together as a family, Glenn and I are doing as well as could be hoped for at this point. Your support in the form of thoughts and prayers has meant the world to us and has been of incredible assistance.
